DSH Tree Care has the time, talent, training, and tools to properly prune trees and shrubs at all stages of development – young and mature alike. Our services come with a satisfaction guarantee, too.
When it comes to young trees, the time to prune might come earlier than you think. It is important to prune trees at a young age to establish a central leader with good structure. Lower branches can compete with the central leader so it’s important to reduce these branches because they can have bad unions and are more prone to failure.
Pruning trees at a young age will help create structural integrity for the future.
Mature trees, whether they have been pruned or not during their lifetime, can shed branches that aren’t productive anymore. Proper pruning is recommended to manage the dead and dying branches in your mature tree. Reducing or thinning branches on mature trees that could pose a risk to property will lessen the chance of failure during a storm or wind event.

We offer all types of shrub pruning to help maintain your landscape. Shearing is the most common practice to maintain the size of a shrub. Our rejuvenation pruning process removes all stems to ground level in order to bring overgrown or neglected shrubs back to life. We also offer renewal pruning. This involves the selective removal of one-third of older or overgrown stems over the course of a few years. Reduction services reduce the overall shape or size of the shrub.
Cables and braces are supplemental supports to help reduce the risk of failure. A Certified Arborist should perform the installation of cables or braces to evaluate a tree’s structural needs. Improper installation could be more harmful than beneficial for the tree.
Lightning protection is a system that will reduce the risk of damage to a high-value tree during a lightning strike. It is a system of copper conductors that directs the path of electricity around the tree and into the ground, where it is dispersed.
